Upholding Tuvalu’s sovereignty, dignity, and survival through transparent funding and community-driven solutions.
In a historic first, the Government of Tuvalu has successfully selected grantees through its inaugural Call for Proposals manage under the Climate Change Department though the Tuvalu Survival Fund, marking a transformative shift for one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations. For the first time, the Government of Tuvalu is not the applicant but the provider, offering small grants from its own national funding under the Department of Climate Change.
Equally groundbreaking is the establishment of a Technical Assessment Panel composed of Tuvaluan experts, who led the screening and evaluation process from start to finish. This milestone signals a bold new chapter: a small island nation, often defined by the aid it receives, now channeling its own resources to uplift its vulnerable communities. Despite its limited means, Tuvalu stands resolute in its commitment to climate action, driven by its people and for its people.
